Keeping Baby Safe

Monitoring Technology.

Many parents rely on technology to help them keep an eye on their infants remotely while they are not present in the room.

Over the years the technology that makes this possible has of course developed in many ways. Originally, Baby Monitors only allowed parents to listen in to the sounds made by their child or children, giving awareness of the baby waking or being distressed.

The addition of a microphone allowed for two-way communication, with parents able to talk and soothe their child from a different room.

Before long the use of cameras enabled parents to monitor babies visually as well as audibly, and before long infra-red functionality enabled this to happen in the dark as well as in the light.

The application of motors allowed for this visual monitoring to be even more accurate and encompassing, with some units having complete 360-degree rotation.

Even more recently, digital technology has made images clearer still, and motion sensors have added further monitoring abilities.

The more flexible examples of this technology rely on battery power for greater freedom of placement and the ability to use them away from a mains power source.

By their nature, these kinds of products work hard and need regular re-charging. Should your device begin to work less efficiently or need charging more and more often working for less and less time between charges then it is probably time to replace your power cell. Left too long you could lose functionality when you need it most.
